Call for Help and Teens Need Teens Hotlines 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
or 309-673-7373
Actively providing a listening ear to thousands of people each year since 1969, the Call for Help Hotline is a 24-hour crisis hotline. In 1987, the Teens Need Teens Hotline began so that teens can talk to trained teen volunteers.
These Hotlines are designed to provide callers with anonymous and confidential telephone support in their time of need, as well as provide information on local resources and, if necessary, link callers to appropriate services.
The Call for Help Hotline is connected to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK and supported through regional call centers. The Call for Help and Teens Need Teens Hotlines are accredited through the American Association of Suicidology (AAS).
As a volunteer, you can provide a listening ear, as well as information on local resources as you answer hotline calls from our office or your home. All volunteers are given a 20-hour training course.
