Held annually on the last Saturday in July
Following her death by suicide in 2004, Whitney Grotts’ family and friends founded Whitney’s Walk For Life to increase the awareness about the tragedy of teen suicide. Working with local survivors, schools and mental health advocates, Whitney’s Walk For Life takes proactive steps to raise money for depression awareness and suicide prevention programs in Central Illinois.
Sadly, one in five youth suffer from mental health problems but only 20 percent of those youth receive the help they need. Let’s not allow our young people to suffer needlessly from undetected, untreated mental health problems that can lead to severe emotional disturbance, substance abuse, and suicide. Recovery is not only possible, but probable when needs are identified early and appropriate treatment is received.

Please join us on July 28, 2012 for the 9th Annual Whitney’s Walk For Life at Jubilee College State Park in Brimfield, Illinois. Monies raised from Whitney’s Walk for Life help fund our mental health awareness and suicide prevention programs for the community. Since Whitney’s Walk For Life began in 2004, over $500,000 has been raised for depression awareness and suicide prevention programming.
Whitney’s Walk for Life is not only an effort to raise funds for the crucial prevention programs we offer to the community, but it has also become a place to join together with others who have experienced the death of a loved one from suicide. We strive to make Whitney’s Walk for Life a positive place to experience support and healing.
Your monetary donation to Whitney’s Walk For Life will support our efforts to reduce the incidence of teen suicide.*
